Dear Friends,
Very often, our team members work directly with area patients and their families.
A family’s involvement with The Blood Center usually helps them to feel they are playing a functional role in their loved one’s recovery by setting up blood drives or encouraging others to donate on their family member’s behalf.
From young leukemia patients, to older blood recipients and trauma victims, The Blood Center’s mission reaches far and wide. Because of The Blood Center, and through the efforts of our community partners and donors, these patients find hope, respite and look forward to good health.
Putting a face to the need tugs at all our hearts, but most importantly, it motivates people to do something — to donate blood. But whether or not you see a face, hear a voice, or know someone right now that needs blood, I ask that you always remember that they are always there.
Because blood cannot be manufactured, the act of donating blood is truly like giving others the most priceless, precious gift — the ‘Gift of Life.’ If you are a donor, I hope we can count on you to continue to be a regular one. If you are unable to donate, I hope we can count on you to encourage others to do so.
Please remember, every gift of blood saves lives and patients in our hospitals face crises everyday. When we call on you, we really do need you.
Sincerely,
Brian Gannon
President & CEO
