The Blood Center Needs All Eligible Donors to Give Blood
In the wake of Hurricane Isaac, The Blood Center is asking the community to donate blood. Due to the severe weather conditions, The Blood Center was forced to cancel blood drives and close donor centers, causing a serious drop in the community blood supply. All blood types are needed and encouraged to give.
“Extreme weather brings with it a serious threat to our local blood supply,” said Blood Center President & CEO Billy Weales. “Collections were set back for three days, which caused a drop in our inventory levels. We need donors of all blood types to donate now in order to help restore the blood supply to safe levels to ensure that we can supply the hospitals in our area.”
The following Donor Centers will be open SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 1st FROM 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 2nd FROM 12 p.m. until 5 p.m.
LABOR DAY-MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 3rd 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
